About Us

Howdy. . . Welcome to The Guthrie Gunfighters Web site.

We have proudly been doing Old West & Victorian Reenactment for the past 12 years.

But really you can usually catch us performing -- Saturdays throughout the year in Guthrie, OK. Performances are between 1 and 5 at the top of each hour in front of the historical Blue Belle Saloon & State Capitol Historical Museum.

(corner of 2nd & Harrison)

We are a nonprofit 501 (C) 3 Old West & Victorian historical reenactment group. Our primary mission is the preservation of Oklahoma's early history from the territorial days to statehood through living history exhibits and performances. Our membership is made up of people from all over Oklahoma and other neighboring states that have a passion for the old west. Our group was first formed in August of 1993 and has
steadily grown in size and reputation since that time. Some of the places
we have been at are the Chisholm Trail festival in Yukon, Age of the Gunfighter at Cowtown in Wichita Kansas, Read Ranch near Chandler, Edmond's 4th of July Parade, McCloud's many festival celebrations, Shawnee, Clinton, Shidler, Pond Creek, and many other wonderful towns around Oklahoma. In September we perform a reenactment of the Doolin/Dalton Gangs shoot-out with U.S. Marshals in Ingalls Ok, commemorating the 1893 gun battle.

Then in April of each year we go to various schools in and around the Oklahoma City metro area to do educational talks with the students about the land run and early history of the state.

These are just some examples of the many things we do to help keep history alive and make it interesting.
